I believe a life consists of many intertwined lives. We are not just one person throughout our lives, but many different people. A big part of being human is change, which is great but can also be confusing. As a therapist, I hope to help people navigate the transitions in their lives with grace and dignity. Therapy is about connection, trust, and relationship. I strive to create an environment in which emotional authenticity is encouraged and celebrated. Whether you’re working to process grief, dealing with problematic substance use, suffering from anxiety or depression--or just can’t seem to get your shit together, we can work together to forge a path forward. I work with individuals, families, and couples.
Sometimes seeing a therapist is not enough. When someone needs, or wants, to go to get more intensive treatment there are tons of options. Too many options. Google is not your friend. I spend a considerable amount of time visiting treatment centers all over the country to meet their clinicians and to see what their current level of care is. As a placement specialist I can help you figure out the right place for you or a loved one to seek treatment. I work with Finney Consulting to help find the best fit for adolescents and adults.
How do you know if it’s time for someone you love to get help? If it is time, how do you best help them? How do you work to get the best chance that they will accept treatment. There is no one way to intervene on someone you care about. Intervention is a process and can be a relatively quick process or a longer, more deliberate one. I, along with my team, work with you to consider what the best plan is for your situation.
Everybody could use a coach. It’s nice to have someone on your team. I provide parent coaching for parents who have kids in treatment (whether that kid is 14 or 40). I can also provide recovery coaching, career coaching, sports support coaching or just about anything you might need some help with.
